The latest limited-edition 911, the 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0. It packs a 4.0-liter flat-six derived from the 911 GT3 RSR racer, complete with forged pistons, titanium connecting rods and a crankshaft pulled directly from its track-bred descendent. With 500 horsepower, from 0-60mph in just 3.9 seconds, crack 124 mph in less than 12 seconds and top out at 193 mph. The price is $185,000, and only 600 will be produced when sales begin later this year.

The latest version Volkswagen Beetle is coming. The new Beetle is 3.3 inches wider and 6 inches longer than the outgoing model. It is 71.2 inches wide and 168.4 inches long, and has a wider track. The bonnet is longer, a look exacerbated by the cabin being pushed back and the windshield being more upright and closer to the driver. 2012 Beetle will offer three engines: a 170-horsepower 2.5-liter gasoline five-cylinder engine, a 140-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder TDI clean diesel engine and a 200-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder TSI turbocharged gasoline engine.

The 2012 Volkswagen Beetle will be on display this week at the 2011 New York Auto Show and the 2011 Shanghai Auto Show, and will go on sale in the U.S. in September. Pricing was not announced.

Giant Robot’s Famicom Scion xB is an 8-bit themed video game car designed by Eric Nakamura, publisher and co-editor of Giant Robot. The headlights and reverse light are projectors. The trunk is equipped with a Nintendo Famicom (J-spec NES) with Mario and Mega Man and a Wii. The shift lever is a joystick and there’s no key, but rather a Nintendo cartridge to start the car.
